Snow Hits Scottsdale!
This has been a weird summer.
We started with two months of spring
weather, then we are hit with a record heat wave
and now this. Snow in Scottsdale and a Hurricane
in Glendale on Saturday night.
The Badgers came to SCC on a hot night and they
were able to suppress the vicious vegetables
known as the Artichokes and pull out a 37-28
win. The good news for SCC is that it was not a
conference game, and they will get another shot.
Halloween night is the date, wow, I know that
SCC will have a few tricks for the other SC on
the way to treating themselves to a conference
win. Boo.....
Glendale was host to American Sports University,
huh, who? Are you kidding me? Who sets these
schedules anyway? The ASU team,, Hey, that is
their moniker! They basically were like a family
in a mini van that finds itself in a hurricane
on a freeway with no exits, bridges or shelter.
Every thing they did could get them killed. The
final score 58-0 but might as well have been
222-0. Actually, it should have been. Stupid,
really fast second half game clocks!
Let's hope the Gaucho's got some work in. I know
they only had to wash half the jerseys
afterwards. Look, Coach Bell, next year schedule
the Centennial JV's at least they could have
kept it closer. Now you have to go live in
practice twice just shake the dust off.
The other WSFL game was a close one that the New
Mexico Military Institute Broncos had to fight
for. They played a real college team from Texas
and beat Saul Ross State 26-22. Congrats to
Coach Lynn and his boys on a great win.
This Saturday, September 5th sees all the teams
in action. The
ASPN - AzFL.com Game of the Week is
Glendale at Phoenix. If PC starts the way it
finished 2008, this game will be one worth watching.
PC has the new parking garage built and all they
need are the Gaucho scalps to hang on the
entrances.
Gauchos vs Bears, a rivalry that is truly
heated, on the field, who wins, well, no way to
tell. Great coaches, great players, so we just
have to wait and see. After the game, my pick is
PC... If they start like they finished. JUCO
