I was privileged enough to be raised with Jesus Christ as a very real part of my life.  Growing up I was always taught how amazing God is and how wonderful it is that He loves me.  I was told that He desired to be close to me, that I could call on Him like a father anytime.  Truly, my life has been blessed.  Now, don't get me wrong, my life has been far from perfect, but its been blessed.  Being a Christian does not mean that life is perfect and you skip around singing hymns or Zip A Dee Doo Dah!  Life is trying, no matter what god you claim to serve or not.  The difference is that when you are a Christian, you have someone who is in control of everything and on your side.  He is there to comfort you, to give you strength, to provide hope, and to fight for you!  Jesus did die on the cross, and He defeated Satan then!  Then He defeated death by coming back to life.  When you are a Christian, evil has no right to you, because Jesus already conquered it!  That does not mean there is not evil in the world, it is all around us.  If we focus on the wrong things, then we can lose sight of the hope we have in Christ.  For example, I know that I am free from Satan's grasp, I stand on God's word for that.  But, Satan can attack the things around me and I can chose to focus on those things and how terrible my life is!  Then God reminds me that those are just things, and that this world is temporary.  I am renewed and refreshed by the fact that God is in control of everything and He loves me so unconditionally.  So, we may not have 2 vehicles for a time, but how amazing is our God that when things seems so frustrating, I know that He will provide what we need and I can tell others that God did this!  Not me, or my money or my little bit of power.  We would not need God if we could do it all ourselves.  So, don't look at me because I say "I love Jesus" to see what God's love is like.  Look at Him, He craves a relationship with you.  I am going to make mistakes, I am going to make the wrong decisions time and time again, but that is why God is so good.  Every time, He just loves me, every time!  I have had hard times in my life, I've been in very dark places, but every time - God was there.  He does not require us to "get holy" before coming to Him.  He just asks that we call on Him, He will come wherever we are.  Whether its in the pits of despair or just lost in what this world is really all about, He will come there.  You can come to God just as you are.  If you reach out to Him, He will stretch out His hand and pull you to Him.  He will give you peace and joy and love, all of these things are beyond our emotions.  I have had joy, while I was sad.  I have had peace in my heart but stress in life.  I have had love while I felt completely alone.
